Jax the Cat

"Maybe that's what life is... a wink of the eye and winking stars" Jack Kerouac

Off to Suzy's 10:00 AM

Jax went to stay with Suzy for awhile. Didn't someone say "it takes a village to raise a kitty"?

He adapts well to people, purrs like crazy, and always looks forward to you coming home!
He is insatiable for affection!

He also manscapes well! You always want to look good for company!

Making friends & Rolling in the Grass 11:00 AM

Jax was hesitant around new cats but tried to make friends. Our cats were less accommodating.

Jax prefers a holistic medicine since Frontline and Advantage made his hair fall out. There are many other flea remedies that are non-toxic but we decided to keep him indoors to solve the problem.

Adoption event :-( 11:00 AM

We love Jax very much, but because we have two high-energy, territorial cats, we took him to an adoption event.

Only one kitty got a new family that day. Jax spent the entire time sleeping in his litter box. We decided that we would not put him through that again and be good hosts until he got a new home.

Jackson is a daddy! 11:00 AM

Jax is the proud pappa of a litter of kitties! We met his GF when she was about to have her babies last Spring. Like Jax, she was a stray, but very social and sweet.

We took her to Sandy's where she had her kittens and she cared for them until they were 4 months old. All of the gorgous kittens were adopted!!!

OMG! It's a baby Jax!

Funny story: Jax' offspring have the same quirky personality as he does! Jax and his kittens splash their water out of the bowl before they drink!

Chillin like a villain! 11:00 AM

Jax hid under the bed for almost a week, but then he settled in and is very social. He likes listening to The Beatles, playing with toys & napping. That's the life!

Off to the vet 11:00 AM

Jackson eventually made friends with several people on the block, who would feed him, pet him and read him the Sunday paper on a warm day.
Winter came and we did not want him to sleep outside in the cold.

We took him in, nicknamed him Jackson, after the Jonny Cash song.
Tina paid for him to go to the vet to get fixed and a clean bill of health.

Though nervous at first at the vet, he warmed up right away and was very brave, purring and meowing with approval to Dr Braum at Center-Sinai Animal Hospital.

Jax has his shots & is FeLV/Leukemia negative. Dr Braum said that he is very healthy, his teeth are strong and is about 1-1/2 years old.
We decided to celebrate his birthday on February 26, like Johnny Cash.
He got a fancy can of Italian sardines in olive oil.

Meeting Jackson, the Culver City outlaw 11:00 AM

Meet Jackson, a handsome, free spirit who charms everyone he meets!
He is looking for a new home with friendly, well-mannered people who will greet him affectionately in the morning when he wakes up.

He loves "kitty krack" (Trader Joe's canned food), cat nip and naps in the sun. He likes to watch the world outside, pretends to be interested in French films and purrs like a lion.

This is the first day he let us feed him without running away. The story goes that he was living with a family up the street and one day, when he was still a kitten, they packed up a U-Haul and drove away without him. Someone saw he sit in the front lawn staring all night in the direction the truck drove off.

But there is more to the story...
